Market Card 2021
What is a Market Card?
Like Community Supported Agriculture, a Market Card is a reciprocal partnership between a local farm and the community. At Orkestai Farm Market Card members are also active participants in their local food system. They also receive a share of seasonal certified organic vegetables by using their Market Card.
A Market Card is essentially an Orkestai Farm gift card with more flexibility than a CSA.
The Differences Between Market Card and CSA
Instead of a weekly share, Market Card members buy exactly how much they want when they want it.
Market Card members can apply their funds anytime and anywhere we sell our produce. This includes our Thursday Market Day, the Oyster Bay Market every other Sunday and the Planting Fields Coe Hall Market every other Saturday.
Market Card members receive a 10% discount of farmer’s market prices, whereas CSA members receive 25-40% off.
Pick your own herbs and flowers is not part of Market Card membership.
Payment plan options are unavailable

Should I choose the Market Card or CSA?
The two are complimentary. Add a Market Card to your CSA Share to ensure you have enough local organic vegetables every week.
That being said, the essential difference is the CSA is better value while the Market Card is more flexible. Both are partnerships with Orkestai Farm.
Prefer to pay by check and save a few bucks? Please download the 2021 CSA Agreement below and mail it along with a payment. Half shares are currently sold out so please only sign up for the Full Share. Thank you!
Special Considerations regarding Covid-19
We believe a local CSA is one of best ways to procure your produce and perhaps even more so during epidemiologically uncertain times. Our pick-ups are outdoors in rain or shine.
Orkestai is following CDC recommendations to ensure our produce is as hygienic as possible. Also, safety protocols approved by NYS are in place. According to the FDA, there is no indication the virus spreads via food. Still, as of now, only trained Orkestai personnel will minimally touch any produce. They will practice regular CDC-advised hand washing techniques and wear appropriate PPE. Full updated protocols will be distributed before the beginning of the CSA in June 2021.
